Out of 175 letters
received from Jesse James it is tolerably evident that no two could in
any reasonable possibility have been written by the same person if
handwriting can be taken as an indication. The following is the
latest, just arrived.
West Plains, Mo - April 25,
St. Louis Republican - to-day I wrote to the Globe
Democrat in regard to the report of me being on the train on the
Chicago and Alton road on April 14. I have told them it was false
and do not hesitate to tell you, as I was in Arkansas at the time, I
will mail this letter at Huttan Valley to-morrow.
